CAFG shall be used in this document to mean “Change Africa For Good.”
General Terms of Service Use
1.1 Identity Verification; because user verification on the Internet is difficult, we cannot and do not confirm each user’s self-styled identity. Although we provide tools intended to assist you, such as our "reviews" system, you are responsible for determining the identity and suitability of others with whom you may match by means of this Site. We do not endorse any persons who use or register for our Services. We do not investigate any user’s reputation, conduct, morality, criminal background, or verify the information such user may submit to the Site. We encourage you to communicate directly with potential Community Based Organizations and Volunteers through the tools available on the Site and to take the same precautions you would normally take when meeting a stranger in person for the first time.
1.2 User Conduct; in your use of our Services, you must act responsibly and exercise good judgment. By way of example and not limitation, you shall not;
a. Violate any applicable law or regulation;
b. infringe the rights of any third party, including without limitation, intellectual property, privacy, publicity or contractual rights
c. use information obtained through our Services for any unauthorized purpose
d. use our Services to transmit, distribute, post or submit any information concerning any other person or entity, including without limitation, photographs of others without their permission, personal contact information or credit, debit, calling card or account numbers
e. collect or store any information about any other user other than for purposes of the permitted use of our Services;
f. register for more than one user account or register for a user account on behalf of an individual other than yourself
g. impersonate any person or entity, or falsify or otherwise misrepresent yourself or your affiliation with any person or entity, whether by providing or omitting to provide information.
MINORS MAY NOT USE OUR SITE SERVICES.
If you are under 18 years old, you are not allowed to use CAFG’s site. You do so under the guidance of your legal guardian and have given you permission to view the site and your guardian agrees to be bound by these terms and conditions.
Change Africa For Good collects personal information to enhance the program quality. We collect personal information mostly from inquiry form and on-line application form. We are highly concerned about your privacy and do all we can to protect it. CAFG promises to keep all information about our clients totally private. We never sell our Email lists, or any other client information. This means that information about your education, your career, your test results, hobbies, phone number, email address, postal address, and interests will be kept totally confidential. Occasionally, we use your email address to send CAFG newsletter, promotion materials, and event information (you can easily unsubscribe it by clicking the given link). However, our Services are designed to allow users to post photographs and information about themselves for public review and comment. Accordingly, by submitting your photograph and/or any other personal information, you waive any privacy expectations you have with respect to use of such likeness or personal information. We provide personal information to third-party service providers who help us maintain our Services and deliver information and services to you and other users of our Services.
You agree not to sell, exchange, transmit, or otherwise use for any purpose, any personally identifiable information or other confidential information, including but not limited to names, addresses, birth dates, phone numbers, electronic mail addresses, other contact information, or any other information pertaining to or that could be used to identify any user of the CAFG Platform, except for uses directly related to and necessary for the facilitation of volunteering and volunteer placement. Such permitted uses expressly exclude the sale of any information to any third party or affiliate.
We may, in our discretion and without liability to you, with or without cause (such cause may include your breach of these Terms), with or without prior notice and at any time: (a) terminate your access to our Services, (b) deactivate or delete any of your accounts and all related information and files in such accounts and (c) block your access to any of such files or Services.
Terms for Volunteers
Change Africa For Good does not arrange flights or make any travel arrangements to the volunteering destination, it is the sole responsibility of the volunteer.
General advice concerning passports visas and health/vaccination requirements are provided to a volunteer after application is complete. Should CAFG provide any suggestions or advice on these matters, this is purely indicative only and volunteers are responsible for conducting their own research.
It is the responsibility of the volunteer to make sure that the relevant visas and/or permits are in place. Please check with the appropriate Embassy or Consulate well in advance before you travel outside your country.
The volunteer is responsible for carrying all necessary documents when traveling abroad, including, but not limited to, passport, visa, work/volunteer permit where necessary
CAFG shall not be responsible if volunteer entry is denied to our country of operation due to incorrect visa or passport documentation
Change Africa For Good does not provide the volunteer with insurance of any kind. All our volunteer programs require valid travel insurance. The volunteer is solely responsible for deciding the type, extent, and level of any insurance they require during the planned travel period and is solely responsible for organizing and covering the costs of this insurance.
While CAFG provide pre-departure packages include information on immunizations, each volunteer is responsible for checking and confirming the immunizations required traveling to East Africa. Should CAFG make any suggestions and provide advice on immunizations this is for indicative purposes only. CAFG strongly recommend that volunteers seek advice from their personal medical doctors before traveling to East Africa.
Change Africa For Good makes every effort for its fees to be affordable. The fees are categorized into two; Registration Fees and Program Fees.
Any volunteer who have been accepted to participate in our volunteer programs is required to pay registration fee of $299 to confirm a volunteer’s placement.
Registration fees are non-refundable once the placement booking has been confirmed by our project partner.
Applicable program fees are listed on each program page on CAFG’s website and are subject to revisions any time but made public via the website.
All incurred transaction costs pertaining to online, bank, or wire transfers must be covered by the volunteer.
Program fees may be subject to change, but will not affect volunteers who have already paid their registration fee.
The volunteer agrees that CAFG shall not be responsible or liable for any volunteer who disobey any law or regulation of any country visited.
The volunteer must abide by the rules put in place by our partner organization, Breaking these rules may result in dismissal from the program without any refund.
DRUG AND ALCOHOL USE
The volunteer must abide by the rules put in place by the host organization with regards to alcohol consumption. Drug use is strictly prohibited and will result in instant dismissal from the program without any refund.
“Volunteer substance” means any and all information and/or content that a volunteer submits to our website e.g., content about the volunteer, photographs, or other postings.
The volunteer acknowledges that as part of their participation on CAFG Volunteers program they may, from time to time, submit photographs, audio testimonies, or blogs about their volunteer experiences. The volunteer hereby grants permission to us to use of such photographs, audio recordings, print, videos, blogs, or electronic media in any presentation of any and all kind whatsoever. This may include, without limitation, quotes, photos, blogs, videos etc, on www.changeafricaforgood.org as well as CAFG social networks pages. The volunteer acknowledges that CAFG will most likely use such recordings and images for advertising and marketing purposes and the volunteer gives permission to do so.
The volunteer agrees to indemnify and hold harmless to CAFG and the host organization from any and all liability arising directly or indirectly out of, or in connection with, the volunteer’s travel, temporary residence in their chosen destination, and the undertaking of volunteering activities.
LEGAL DISCLAIMER, LIMITATIONS, AND EXCLUSIONS OF LIABILITY

Volunteering involves traveling to East Africa where there may be some personal risk. This includes physical injury, financial loss, mental/emotional trauma, and even death. The volunteer acknowledges and accepts sole responsibility for any such risks of whatever nature that may occur during the term of this volunteering agreement.
Volunteering placements are often in areas where the standards of accommodation, transport, safety, hygiene, telecommunication facilities, level of infrastructure development and medical facilities are not the same as the volunteer may be used to at home, or would find on a conventional travel. CAFG cannot accept any liability for accidents, injuries, loss of personnel effects, or death, which the volunteer agrees to fully assume. The volunteer understands that during the placement certain events may occur, including, but not limited to, accident or illness in remote places without medical facilities, political instability, criminal acts, and the forces of nature. The volunteer agrees to assume all risks associated with the journey to the maximum extent permitted by law.
The volunteer acknowledges that CAFG contracts with a network of locally-based partners, companies, government agencies, charity groups and individuals throughout the country/s, to assist in hosting the volunteers locally during their placements. To the best of CAFG knowledge, these third parties are qualified to perform the duties they are contracted to perform. However, CAFG will not be held liable for any injury, damage, loss, delay or irregularity that may occur due to the behaviors of these third parties.
CAFG disclaims any and all liability regarding any of the content provided by the volunteer. We have no way to verify that any of the information listed by the volunteer is accurate, up-to-date, or fraudulent. Should reliance on any of the volunteer information result in some kind of cause-of-action or injury to the volunteer, known or unknown, CAFG shall have no liability or responsibility.
Being aware of the above, the volunteer takes any information from CAFG at their own risk. By using any of the information, the volunteer agrees not to sue CAFG or any of its agents, employees and partners
CAFG does not warrant or make any representations regarding the correctness, accuracy, reliability, or otherwise of the materials in this site or the result of their use. No representation or warranty is made that the site or information provides comprehensive or accurate information. We reserve the right to filter, modify or remove content, media, information or any other material from the site or information and from the output of the site or information.
Terms for Nonprofit Organizations
NONPROFIT/COMMUNITY-BASED ORGANIZATION PROFILES
a. To create Organization profile you must be a registered organization operating in Uganda, Kenya, Tanzanian and Rwanda and submit your registration number
b. You become a full member after completing your annual membership fees of $100
c. You must have a bank or PayPal account in the name of your Organization.
d. You must complete all mandatory fields.
e. You cannot communicate with Volunteers that you initially connected with CAFG outside our communication channels. Communicating and paying through CAFG helps to ensure that partner Organizations are protected under our Terms, Cancellation and Money Back Guarantee policies.
f. CAFG reserves the right to remove nonprofit/Community Based Organization profiles that, in our sole discretion violate our terms and/or vision or for any other reason. Typical reasons for removing a nonprofit/ Community Based Organization profile include, but are not limited to: Misrepresenting yourself on your Volunteer CAFG profile, theft from a Volunteer, intimidation, threatening, or physically harming a Volunteer or anyone at an Organization, and breaking any of the local laws.
a. You agree to use the Volunteer Alliance platform at your own risk.
b. Although CAFG takes reasonable steps to prevent loss, damage or injury arising from the use of our platform, we do not warrant, guarantee or make any representations about the safety of neither the platform, nor that it is free from errors.
c. CAFG shall not be held liable or responsible for any guarantees or representations offered by third party Volunteer Placement Organizations, Volunteers or their agents.
d. CAFG is not responsible for any error, omission, interruption, deletion or delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to, or alteration of the CAFG website.
Modifications to Terms
CAFG may change these Terms from time to time. If the volunteer or partner organisation objects to any such changes, the volunteer’s or partner’s sole choice will be to cease using the Site and reading any more of the Information. Continued use of the Site or the Information following posting of any such changes will indicate the volunteer’s acknowledgment of such changes and their agreement to be bound by the revised Terms, inclusive of such changes.
The volunteer or partner organisation hereby further agrees that this Legal Disclaimer shall be construed in accordance with the laws of Uganda, and that any mediation, suit, or other proceeding must be filed only in that jurisdiction, even if the volunteer or partner organisation is outside that jurisdiction.
Both parties agree that any controversy or claim arising out of or relating the Terms and Conditions shall be first settled by arbitration. Both parties agree that any arbitrator needs to be mutually agreed upon. Should arbitration fail, both parties agree to have their legal issue be heard before a mediator that both parties need to mutually agreed upon. Should mediation fail, both parties agree that they may then have their legal issue resolved by the courts.
The volunteer agrees not to directly contact any of CAFG partner organizations which have been disclosed to them by CAFG and shall not directly enter into any arrangement with the partner organizations without CAFG written approval.
