Medical Camp Overview

CAFG is seeking volunteers for the monthly medical camps located in the Mubende district of Uganda, in the local village of Kyelima. Over 500 residents will given free medical treatment, and volunteers will work alongside Ugandan doctors, nurses, dentists, lab technicians and support staff.

Change Africa For Good, partnering with local governments and hospitals, serves rural communities in Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania that lack consistent quality medical care. Facing high incidences of HIV/AIDS, malaria, malnutrition and other preventable health concerns, these communities benefit from the experience of qualified medical professionals offering their time and expertise. The Change Africa For Good clinics reach deep into underserved communities, treating existing conditions and educating patients on preventative measures.

Due to the highly selective and sensitive nature of these projects, only licensed doctors, nurses and medical professionals with at least two years of experience will be considered for administering health care. There are many opportunities for non-licensed volunteers to assist in the clinic should they hope to gain exposure to medical field work.

Program Details

Volunteers, depending on qualifications, can expect to treat patients, provide exams, diagnoses, and treatment, perform minor surgical procedures, give immunizations, test for diseases, provide eye and dental exams, and provide counseling.  Acute cases will be referred to the local hospital. Prices start at $2049.00 for this medical camp experience. An additional 3-day excursion through Kampala and the Murchison Falls National Park can be purchased for $1100.00. Make the most of your African adventure with a Kampala city tour, lunch on the Equator and a 2-day wildlife safari!
